Alecia Joe Hixon Smith, age 89, of Mayfield, KY passed away Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, KY

She was a member of the Lynnville United Methodist Church as well as a member of the Graves County Homemakers Association. Mrs. Smith worked in a number of local industries including the Forestry Department, Curlee, numerous local factories and school cafeterias.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Alecia Gail Spillman (Andrew) Cline of Simpsonville, KY and Anita Joe (Shawn) King of Richmond, KY; one sister, Virginia Hixon Corbitt of Hermitage, TN; one son-in-law, Bill Spillman of Wingo, KY; eight great-grandchildren, Will Cline, Alex Cline, Elli Cline, Drew Cline, Sam King, Izzy Cline, Sydney King and Abby Cline.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband Victor Guge Smith; one daughter, Gail Spillman; one son, Pat Smith; her parents were Joe Thomas and Alecia Pauline McRee Hixon.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00AM Monday, December 11, 2023 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Debbie Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cuba Community Cemetery. Andrew Cline, Shawn King, Sean Corbitt, Stone Corbitt, Drew Cline and Sam King will serve as pallbearers. Sam King will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Monday, December 11, 2023 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
