Mrs. Alene Crouch Holmes, age 90, of Mayfield passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Green Acres Healthcare in Mayfield, KY.
She was a wife, mother and most importantly "Meme" to her grandchildren and their friends. Mrs. Holmes was a member of Trace Creek Baptist Church and a former employee of Casa Mia Restaurant, Patsy's Playhouse and the Pepsi Challenge. She was a retired employee of S & H Food Town.
Mrs. Holmes is survived by five sons, Johnny (Laura) Holmes III of Ladson, SC, Steve (Conita) Holmes of Mayfield, KY, Dwayne (Wendy) Holmes of Mayfield, KY, Chris (Rena) Holmes of Mayfield, KY and Robin (Tracy) Holmes of Water Valley, KY; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Presley Holmes, Jr.; one brother, Gervis Crouch; her parents, Walter and Bessie Sawyer Crouch; her step-mother, Daisy Holifield; and a grandchild, Amiya Mahkina Watkins.
Funeral services for Mrs. Alene Crouch Holmes will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Her sons will officiate. Entombment will follow at Highland Park Mausoleum.
Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
