Our beloved mama, Bobbie Garrison Chrysler, age 91, born and raised in Murray, Kentucky, took her final breath on this earth on Tuesday, January 13, and opened her eyes in heaven to see and praise God and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, reunited with so many loved ones who had gone before her.

Mama's life was devoted to serving God and others. Her two greatest passions were music and teaching piano. She was a gifted and sought-after piano teacher and church pianist throughout the area. Going to church and playing the piano is simply how we knew life. I thank God for giving me a mother who taught me about Jesus and His saving grace. Because of her faith, I have peace in knowing I will see her again.

Mama had a deep love for the elderly. She worked for many years as an Activities Director in nursing homes across the region, as well as in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and Tucson, Arizona, where she was once honored as Activities Director of the Year. Even while living at Calvert City Convalescent Nursing & Rehab, she continued singing and playing the piano up until just two weeks before her passing, despite suffering from Alzheimer's disease.

The residents and staff there became her family, and she loved them dearly. My husband and I love them as well. Their motto says it best:
"Our residents don't live in our facility—we work in their home."
We will forever be grateful for the love and care they showed Mama. A special thank you to Samantha, who always took time to make her laugh; sweet Julia, who loved her constantly; and Nutyra Banks, who kept Mama—and all of us—laughing. We also extend heartfelt thanks to Hospice for the compassion and care shown in Mama's final days.

Mama also dearly loved Murray High School, where she excelled in many activities, including cheerleading. She was voted Most Popular alongside Tommy Carroll and proudly wore her Class of 1953 ring until her death.

A very special thank you to my precious family—little honey (AKA husband) and my daughters, Moon and Kacy—who lovingly handled the funeral arrangements and made sure every detail was perfect, allowing me the space and peace to grieve. I am also deeply grateful to Byrn Funeral Home for their compassion, professionalism, and for ensuring that Mama's service was truly special and a beautiful reflection of her life.

Mama was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Jessie Burks; two brothers; two sisters; one daughter, Jan Ovalle; and three grandsons, Jonathan Kholheim, Matrix Fox, and Madden Fox.

She is survived by her daughters Kary Garrison Rogers, Karen Brown Rhodes, and Sandy Gupton; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mama will be private at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Murray, KY.  A private  family visitation will be held at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
