Mr. Charles A. Wiman, age 94, of Mayfield passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

He was of the Baptist faith, a retired Assistant Postmaster with the U.S. Postal Service and a U.S. army veteran.  Following his retirement, his love of tinkering with cars led him to establish Wiman Auto Sales.  For Charles, it was much more than about automobiles, it was about people. Known for having a big heart, Charles never met a stranger and he treated everyone like they were his best friends.

While the kids were young, he spent countless hours at the ballpark coaching, running the concession stand and serving on the board.

Charles had a deep love for his family. Mr. Wiman is survived by two sons, Chet (Julia) Wiman and Kelly (Lynn Colvin) Wiman both of Owensboro, KY; one daughter, Beth (Ben) Crawford of Mayfield, KY; eight grandchildren, Lucas Wiman, Whit (Mackenzie) Wiman, Mary Wesley Wiman, Mary Evelyn Wiman, John William Wiman, Andrew Wiman, Wade Crawford and Claire Crawford;  and a special friend, Pat Adkins.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Beverly Carr Wiman; one brother, Wilbur Wiman; and his parents, Wilbur Wilson and Ethel Jones Wiman.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles A. Wiman will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2025 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.  Bro. Brad Morris will officiate.  Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #26.

Pallbearers will be Gary Cagle, Jeff Duke, Jesse Holder, Lucas Wiman, Whit Wiman, Andrew Wiman, John William Wiman and Wade Crawford.

Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the funeral home.
