Dianne Dowdy Hunt passed away on Aug 6, 2024 from a long illness.

Dianne was born in Mayfield, Kentucky on February 19, 1944. While attending Mayfield High school, she began dating her future husband, David. It was a true love story only to be interrupted by David's death on January 2, 2016.

Dianne attended Murray State College, where she was a cheerleader and an early childhood education major. After receiving her degree, she and David married in the First Christian Church in Mayfield and then moved to Lexington so she could teach while David went to pharmacy school. The couple was excited to move to Bardstown Kentucky where they met lifelong friends and Dianne's love for antiques was stoked. David's career eventually took them to Memphis Tennessee, where they started a family with the arrival of their daughter, Jincy. Dianne was an outstanding mother and wife; she created a home that was always inviting and warm. Dianne was either working in her yard, creating something wonderful in the kitchen or organizing the next trip to Lexington. David and Dianne loved the Kentucky Wildcats and traveled to see them many times over the years. During her time in Memphis, she would substitute teach, constantly turning down offers for full time because she wanted to be available for her family. She loved her grandchildren so very much and would jump at any opportunity to be at their sports games when they were young, and their high school graduations as they grew older. She was a second mother to so many of Jincy's friends, she was special.

David and Dianne were an incredible team, they loved each other fiercely. It is only appropriate that she died on their 59th wedding anniversary, now they are forever highschool sweethearts.

Dianne is predeceased by her parents Lincoln (Francis) Dowdy and her husband David Hunt. She is survived by her brother Dr. Donald Dowdy (Carol) of Mayfield Kentucky, her daughter Jincy (Matt) and grandchildren Hunt and Mary Virginia.

Dianne will be buried in Bennett cemetery beside Bethel Church of Christ in Mayfield, Kentucky in a private service at a later date.
