Mr. Gene Edwin Turner, age 86, of Mayfield passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Green Acres Healthcare in Mayfield, KY.

He was an avid pedal steel guitar player and a retired instructor with the Mayfield-Graves County Vocational School.

Mr. Turner is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Nell Nanny Turner; two sons, Brian J. Turner of Boaz, KY and Jonathan Turner of Mayfield, KY; one daughter, Gina B. Turner Gordon of Paducah, KY; one brother, Bill Turner of Sevierville, TN; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Loretta Butler and his parents, Jennings and Veva Bazzell Turner.

Graveside services for Mr. Gene Edwin Turner will be 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Mayfield Memory Gardens.  Joel Crider will officiate.  Interment will follow.

Visitation will be 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. on Friday at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
