Mr. George "Tom" Hendley, age 79, of Mayfield passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

He was of the Baptist faith and a retired employee of Mayfield Housing Authority.

Mr. Hendley is survived by three sons, Tommy Joe Hendley, Gary Lynn Hendley and Donny Joe (Chasity) Hendley all of Mayfield, KY; one sister, Joyce Alexander of Mayfield, KY; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Louise Gough Hendley; three brothers, James "Bobo" Hendley, Steve Hendley and Jimmy Hicks; one sister, Shirley Ann Wing; and his parents, George and Mamie Sue Jones Hendley.

Funeral services for Mr. George "Tom" Hendley will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.  Jesse Lynn Gough will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Derreck Hendley, Greg Gough, Brad Marshall, Jimmy Alexander, Joe Alexander, Josh Cole and Michael Hendley.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
