Mr. Jackie Lynn Gargus, age 85, of Mayfield, KY passed away Friday, February 14, 2025 at his residence.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mayfield and a KY Colonel. Jackie was a retired employee from the J.U. Kevil Foundation.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bettye Boyd Gargus; one daughter, Elaine Gargus (John) Cannella of Ellicott City, MD; one sister, Carolyn (Odell) Langford of Red Boiling Springs, TN; four nephews, David (Jodi) Gargus, Mark (Judy) Gargus, Andy (Megan) Gargus, and Mike (Cindy) Hamilton; one niece, Dianne (Todd) Day.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmie Allen Gargus; parents, Burnett and Mildred Parham Gargus.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. David Whaley and Lanny Wiman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery. David Gargus, Mark Gargus, Andy Gargus, Hunter Grant, Tucker McAlpin, and Christian Thurman will serve as pallbearers. John Cannella, Todd Day, Mike Hamilton, Ray Warmath, and Mike Riley will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to; J.U.
