Mr. James "Michael" Brown, age 66, of Mayfield passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Ray and Kay Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY.

He was a member of McKendree Community Church and a retired employee of Reed Resources.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of nine years, Janet Johnson Brown; one stepdaughter, Ashley (Jimmy) Loden of Hopkinsville, KY; one sister, Debra (Johnny) Sears of Lowes, KY; two nieces, Jamie Sears (Mark) Rawlings of Lowes, KY and Leigh Ann Sears (Gene McLean) Thacker of Louisville, KY; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James T. and Barbara Faye Smith Brown.

Funeral services for Mr. James "Michael" Brown will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.  Rev. Richard Dowdy will officiate.  Interment will follow at McKendree Cemetery. Bobby Johnson, Greg Youngblood, Jeff Swatzell, Johnny Sears, Gene McClain, Jimmy Loden, Scotty Mason, Dale Heath will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the funeral home.
