Mr. James E. Byrd, age 73, of Mayfield passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.

He was of the Methodist faith, a retired employee of Ingram Barge Company and a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Byrd is survived by one son, Bryan Byrd of Martin, TN; one daughter, Lori (Shawn) Jacob of Lexington, KY; one sister, Joyce Cox of Mayfield, KY; and two grandchildren, Kyle (Andrea) Lyons of Georgetown, KY and Hannah Jacob of Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Byrd and his parents, Rubin and Stella Pinion Byrd.

Funeral services for Mr. James E. Byrd will be 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.  Rev. Ronnie Stinson, Jr. will officiate.  Interment will follow at Trinity Cemetery.

Visitation will be 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
