Jo Ann Grooms Anderson, age 80, of Mayfield, KY passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care in Paducah, KY.

She was retired from Lourdes Hospital. Jo Ann was a member of Northside Baptist Church and enjoyed attending the senior citizens center.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula (David) Williams of Paducah, KY; one son, Michael (Mirian) Alexander of Murray, KY; one brother, Tony (Ling) Grooms of Murray, KY; three grandchildren, Pastor Greg (Cara) Winn, Andrea Alexander, and Kaitlyn (Breland) Posey; four great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Alexander; second husband, Walter John Anderson; one sister, Joyce Grooms Oakes; one brother, Billy Joe Grooms.

A graveside funeral service is scheduled for 2:00PM Monday, July 13, 2026 at the Highland Park Cemetery in Mayfield, KY. Pastor Greg Winn will officiate. Visitation is scheduled from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM Monday, July 13, 2026 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
