Mr. John "Johnny" W. Canter, age 80 of Mayfield, KY passed away Friday February 19, 2021 at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY.

He was a retired truck driver for the State of Kentucky, and of the Church of Christ faith. Johnny's biggest enjoyment came from driving around and visiting friends as well as tinkering with lawn mowers and other small engines. He always had a smile and a wave for everyone he met!

He is survived by three children, Deana (Tammi) Osborne of Louisville, KY, Terri Jean Sewell of Springfield, MO, and Christy Dawn Patton of Winchester, KY; one brother, Jerry (Judy) Canter of Charleston, MO; one sister, Sandra Byrd of Pilot Oak, KY; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Johnny was preceded in death by three brothers, Rex A. Canter, Bobby G. Canter, and Jimmy M. Canter; one sister, Shirley Canter Gilbert; parents were John "Bud" and Myrtle Holt Canter.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00p.m. Monday February 22, 2021 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Interment will follow in the Cuba Community Cemetery. Jody Canter, Chad Canter, Bobby Canter, Jr., Dennis Gilbert, Brett Byrd, and James Sullivan will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 12noon until 2:00p.m. at the funeral home.
