Mr. Jr. Champion, age 81, of Mayfield passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Ascension St. Thomas West in Nashville, TN.

He attended Mt. Olive Methodist Church in Pryorsburg, KY and he was the retired owner / operator of Champion Plumbing and a farmer.

Mr. Champion is survived by two sons, Scott Champion of Wingo, KY and Chris (Kelly) Champion of Mayfield, KY; one daughter, Jeanna (Steve) Tucker of Wingo, KY; two stepsons, Chuck (Lori) Choate and David (Daniela) Choate both of Mayfield, KY; one stepdaughter, Deborah (Leslie) Choate of New Orleans, LA; one brother, Larry (Libby) Champion of Mayfield, KY; three sisters, Shelby Leach, Wanda Murray and JoAnn Jackson; two half-sisters, Rosa Gail Champion and Lee Anne Champion; five grandchildren, Stephen (Christine) Tucker, Kenny (Jennie) Tucker, Nicole Champion, Austin (Taylor) Champion and Trevor (Natalie) Champion; nine great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Blackmon Champion; his father Ralph Champion; and his mother, Rena Prince Champion.

Funeral services for Mr. Jr. Champion will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.  Rev. Keith Osborne will officiate.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scott Champion, Stephen Tucker, Austin Champion, Trevor Champion, Kenny Tucker, Kolton Tucker, Chris Champion and Jeff Skaggs.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Rowe, Cody Rowe, Bobby Whitford, Robert Whitford, Isaac Darnell, Nicole Champion, Katie Tucker, Adalyn Tucker, Mickey Janes, David Choate, Chuck Choate, Blake Tindal, Jay Tindal, Joe Skaggs and Van Allen.

Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at the funeral home.
