Larry Edward Calhoun, age 79, of Mayfield, KY passed away Monday, December 22, 2025 at the Baptist Health of Paducah Hospital

Larry was an Army Veteran, and a member of the Pleasant Grove Community Church. He was an avid golf, Bowling and UK fan. He was also a retired salesman  from Gilliam Thompson Furniture and formerly worked for Youngblood's Furniture.

Larry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Carlisle Calhoun; one sister, Brenda Calhoun Price of Pryorsburg, KY; also survived by a close family friend, Carol Carter of Fairhope, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Katie Wyatt Calhoun.

A funeral service for Larry Edward Calhoun is scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Richard Dowdy will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

David G. Carlisle, David Lee, Jordan Thompson, Austin Haley, Scott Haley and Jamie Haley will serve as pallbearers. Phil Thompson, Toy Venable, Billy Don Clark, and Dennis Burgess Will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #26.
