Obituary

Margie Lee Canter Hawkins of Mayfield passed away on Tuesday February 7, 2023 at Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mayfield.

Margie was born on June 21, 1929, to the late William Taft Canter and Sylvia Burnett Canter. Mrs. Hawkins was a homemaker and a long-time member of Northside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Hawkins; a daughter, Billie Catherine Keeling; a grandson, Micah Shane Keeling; her sister, Wanda Mike, and brothers, Howard Canter and Charlie Canter.

She was a devoted and loving mother to her five children, Yvonne (Joe) Kimbel, Dianna (David) Kennemore, Sharon (Gary) Rowe, and son, William Kent Hawkins. She leaves behind: - nine grandchildren: Monica (Chris) Smith, Marlo (Wes) Rhodes, Shannon (Keila) Jackson, Christy (Jason) Reigler, Jennifer (Mike) Downy, Jarred (Amy) Adair, Chad (Amanda) Rowe, Jennifer (Nathan) Pentecost, and Kaitlyn (Corey) Pickens; twenty- three great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 PM Monday February 13, 2023 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Al Chandler will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mayfield Memory Gardens. Wes Rhodes, Shannon Jackson, Jarred Adair, Chad Rowe, Nathan Pentecost, and Cory Pickens will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
