Mrs. Maria Cruz Cortez Paramo, age 55, of Mayfield passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at her residence.

She was of the catholic faith, a loving mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Paramo is survived by her husband, Martin Cortez; two sons, Luis Angel Cortez (Marissa) Paramo and Martin Cortez (Andreina) Paramo both of Mayfield, KY; two daughters, Karla Ylenia Cortez Paramo (Jose Roman) and Jacqueline Cortez Paramo (Francisco Duran) both of Mayfield, KY; two brothers, Jesus Paramo and Mario Paramo both of Houston, TX; four sisters, Hortencia (Marin) Diaz of Mayfield, KY, Aurora (Nicholas) Carmona of Mayfield, KY, Irma Zamora Paramo of Mexico and Juana Zamora Paramo of Mexico; and eleven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leopoldo Paramo and Aurora Paramo Zamora.

Funeral services for Mrs. Maria Cruz Cortez Paramo will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayfield, KY.  Father Eric Riley will officiate.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Luis Angel Cortez Paramo, Martin Cortez Paramo, Mario Paramo, Jesus Paramo, Francisco Duran and Jose Roman.

Visitation will be 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
