Mrs. Peggy Jean Champion Day, age 83, of Mayfield passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at The Farms Nursing Home in Puryear, TN.

She attended First Assembly of God Church in Mayfield, KY and was a retired employee of Mayfield Veterinary Clinic.

Mrs. Day is survived by two sons, Mark Champion of Mayfield, KY and Chris Champion of Paris, TN; one brother, John (Trish) Sims of Murray, KY; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis Champion; her second husband, Cecil Day; and her parents, Leon E. Thorpe and Mayzelle (Keeling) Styles.

A private family graveside will be held at a later date.

Visitation for Mrs. Peggy Jean Champion Day will be 11:00 a.m. -1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
