Mrs. Phyllis Ann Rice Key, age 89, of Mayfield passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Mills Health and Rehab in Mayfield, KY.

She retired from the banking industry.

Mrs. Key is survived by her husband of 71 years, GW "Bud" Key; one son, Shayne (Laura) Key of Mayfield, KY; one daughter, Debra Anne of Mayfield, KY; five grandchildren, Joshua (Kristi) Malone, Caleb Malone, Austin (Jessica) Key, Kacey Key and Zachary (Ashley) Malone; four nieces, Sue Hall, Judy Hart, Annie Rouse and Kaye Davis; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Muriel Rouse, Mazel Ogden and Christine Plyer; three brothers, Fredrick Rice, Robert Rice and Nathaniel Rice; one niece, Sonnie Wright; one great grandson, Joshua Malone, Jr.; and her parents, Mac and Carrie Gibson Rice.

Funeral services for Mrs. Phyllis Ann Rice Key will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.  Rev. Keith Allred and Josh Malone will officiate.  Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Shayne Key, Austin Key, Joshua Malone, Caleb Malone, Zachary Malone and Jonathan Earles.  Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Lamb, James Strong, Mike Rowland and Richard Cook.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
