Obituary

Mr. Richard "Dick" Brooks, age 89, of Mayfield, KY passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY.
Richard grew up in Dryden, MI. Also lived in Chesterfield, MO; Springhill, FL; as well as other locations before settling in Mayfield, KY.
He was of the Methodist Faith, a retired employee of TRW and a US Army Korean War veteran receiving three bronze stars.
Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith Johnson Brooks; one son, John (Nancy) Brooks of Arlington Heights, IL; two sisters, Sally Furgerson of Dryden, MI and Lora Slingerland of Spring Hill, FL; and four grandchildren, Kathryn Brooks, Andrew Brooks, Jaclyn Brooks and Matthew Brooks; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Eldon Brooks, Gerald Brooks, Joseph Brooks and David Brooks; three sisters, Vinnie Kramer, Marion West and Anne Hebert; and his parents, Lee John and Myrtle Hauxwell Brooks.
A memorial service will be held 10:00am Saturday May 8, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Mayfield. Rev. Joey Reed Will officiate. Memorial visitation will be held from 9:30am until 10:00am on Saturday May 8, 2021 at the Church.
