Mr. Robert M. Phipps, age 92 of Lexington, KY formerly of Mayfield, KY passed away Thursday August 5, 2021 in Lexington, KY.
Robert was a retired attorney as well as an U.S. Veteran in SCARWAF (Special Category Army Regular With Air Force support in the Berlin Air Lift). He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Lexington, KY and former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mayfield, KY. Robert was also a former member of the Rotary Club in Mayfield.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Howe Kolb Phipps; two sons, David (Lynn) Phipps of Elizabethtown, KY and Robert (Dorothy) Phipps of Fairport, NY; one daughter, Christina (Robert) Conklin of Rock Island, IL; two step-sons, Dave (Amy) Howe of Memphis, TN and Clayton (Carol) Howe of Mayfield, KY; one step-daughter, Catherine Hunt of Lexington, KY; one sister, Marion Smith of Concord, CA; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.

Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Darleen "Lee" Marie Phipps, and his parents James M. and Emma Holmes Phipps.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00am Wednesday August 11, 2021 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Jon Faraone will officiate. David Phipps, Robert Phipps, II., W. Greg Phipps, James Phipps, Jonathan Phipps, and Dave Howe will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Hicks Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #26 in Mayfield. Visitation will be from 10:00am until 11:00am Wednesday August 11, 2021 at the Byrn Funeral Home.
