Robert Lee Williams, Jr., affectionately known as Lee, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of skill, service, and quiet devotion. Lee was widely known as an exceptionally talented auto mechanic, possessing an extraordinary mechanical ability that many described as near-savant level. His keen mind, problem-solving skills, and dedication to his craft earned him deep respect from those who knew and worked with him.

He also had a profound impact on the younger generation, inspiring in many a genuine love for learning about classic cars. Widely regarded as the foremost expert in this region, he could rebuild, fully restore, and precisely tune Holley and Rochester carburetors to absolute perfection.

Lee was also an active member of First Street Baptist Church, where he faithfully supported the work of the church alongside his late wife, Earlene Key Williams, who served as a trustee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Williams, Sr., and Fay Jean Wilson Williams, and by his beloved wife, Earlene Key Williams.

Lee is survived by his son, Chris Lee (Katie) Stairs; his siblings, Melinda Carol (Steve) Parrott, Esther Jeannie Puckett, and Joseph Anthony Williams; Four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, as well as extended family, church family, friends, and many whose lives he touched through his talent and skills.

Visitation will be held at Byrn Funeral Home on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at Byrn Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. with Joseph Williams officiating.  Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Williams, Chris Stairs, Jeff Parrott, Jaden Hart, Dashonce Galbreath and William Lozoya.

In honor of Lee, we invite anyone who wishes to do so to drive a classic car or hot rod to the service for one final car show in his memory.

Lee will be remembered for his remarkable abilities and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
