Mrs. Shirley Redmon Wiggins, age 88, of Mayfield passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Mills Health and Rehab in Mayfield, KY.

She was born on May 25, 1936 to Utah Redmon and Hazel Brewington Redmon.  She was the last and longest living of the Brewington and Redmon families.  Shirley graduated from Cuba High School in 1954.  After graduating she married her high school sweetheart, Gerald David Wiggins.  They were married over 50 plus years, until his death in 2010.  Shirley worked at the Merit Clothing Company until it closed, she then opened her own alteration shop and worked there until she retired.  She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wiggins is survived by her niece and nephew, Rita Vaughan Ray and Philip Vaughan both of Mayfield, KY; several great nieces and nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald D. Wiggins; one sister, Ruth Ann Vaughan; one brother, Jimmy Redmon; two nephews, Dewayne Redmon and David Vaughn; and her parents, Utah and Hazel Brewington Redmon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Redmon Wiggins will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.  Rev. Tony Steele and Rev. Mike Baker will officiate.  Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Norsworthy, Zach Vaughan, Tim Burkeen, Colby Redmon, Jordan Redmon and Brett Willie.  Bro. Rick Walker will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
