Rev. Thomas Allen Mathis, age 81, of Mayfield passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at his residence.

He was a member of High Point Baptist Church and a retired Southern Baptist Pastor.

Rev. Mathis is survived by his wife, Pam Mathis; one son, James Mathis of Mayfield, KY; two daughters, Tracy Mathis (Jerry) Sinclair of Eddyville, KY and Tanya Mathis (Stanley) Whitney of Gallatin, TN; one brother, Terry (Linda) Mathis of Metropolis, IL; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Mathis and his parents, Paul Wade and Kittie Darnall Mathis.

Funeral services for Rev. Thomas Allen Mathis will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.  Rev. Terry Mathis and Rev. Marcus Burnett will officiate.  Interment will follow at Brewers Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Edwards, Stephen Champagne, John Moseley, Montez Sinclair, Larry Dale Darnall and Terry Zimmerman.

Visitation will be 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
