Timothy Scott Mathis, age 65, of Mayfield, KY passed away Sunday, July 19, 2026 at his residence.

Tim was a lifelong resident of Mayfield, Kentucky. He enjoyed music of all genres, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and all things Walt Disney, making almost annual trips to Walt Disney World in Florida. Even before graduating from Symsonia High School in 1979, Tim was playing drums for local bands. He played drums for Cissy Lynn, touring where he met his loving wife of 36 years, Ann McCreery Mathis. Later Tim became the drummer for the band Dirt Cheap. Tim was employed by Westlake Chemical.

He is also survived by; one son, Jeromy McCreery of Mayfield, KY; his father, Billy H. Mathis of Mayfield, KY; two sisters, Tina (Ronnie) Wilson and Traci (Ted) Wallrauch both of Mayfield, KY; one brother, Todd (Karen) Mathis of Mayfield, KY; five grandchildren, Dylan Hobbs, Madisyn Dietch, Haley McCreery, Kamryn McCreery, and Colbie McCreery; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Deanne McRoberts Mathis.

A memorial visitation will be held from 11:00AM until 1:00PM Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
